The IFE Conference Experience

IFE Conference, formerly known as CIIE, is an international event that over the years has established itself as one of the most important gatherings in the Spanish-speaking world, addressing topics of educational innovation. Over the course of three days, more than 500 activities are held, aimed at learning, collaborating, and connecting.

The congress content consists of:

1. Keynote conferences and panels: world-renowned experts are invited to discuss current and relevant topics in education.

2. Featured Events: hybrid selected content from the thematic lines and special events that are presented as conferences and panels. .

3. Papers Presentations and Conference Proceedings: during the conference days, research and innovation projects are presented, carefully selected from the previous months’ Call for Papers contributions..

  • There are 4 types of contributions: Research Papers, Innovation Papers, Book Presentations, and Educational Innovation Experience.
  • The presented papers are recorded in the congress proceedings: https://ciie.mx/es/memorias/. The congress proceedings have an ISSN registration.

4. Special Events: The latest edition of the conference featured a total of 11 special events, each with its own agenda and covering various important topics in the field of education: Educational Policy, Transforming Higher Education, STEM/STEAM Education, Lifelong Learning, Global Learning, Edtech Entrepreneurship, Interdisciplinary Education and Research, Innovation and Education for NGOs, Education for Sustainable Development, and Transforming Learning Experiences through Innovative Technologies and Pedagogies.

5. Innovation Expo: a networking space where sponsors and strategic allies present relevant technologies and information related to educational innovation. This space also includes a section dedicated to selected research posters from the Call for Papers.

6. IFE Edtech Summit: an event organized by the Institute for the Future of Education at Tecnológico de Monterrey for the entire EdTech ecosystem in Latin America. It is a space to connect entrepreneurs, investors, and decision-makers from educational institutions in order to grow the ecosystem through new partnerships and valuable connections. Relevant content about what is happening in the world of EdTech and educational entrepreneurship is also shared during the summit. As part of the Summit activities, the Edtech Park is presented, showcasing 20 startups in edtech entrepreneurship.

7. Mostla and VR Zone: a showcase of emerging technologies within the special event “Transforming Learning Experiences.”

8. Awards: in the latest edition, we had three award ceremonies.

  • The TPrize final, which recognizes and encourages innovation in education by rewarding those who have created creative and effective solutions to address educational challenges in their communities.
  • The GESAwards, which have built a community of over 6,000 EdTech startups in more than 130 countries.
  • The RIE 360 Award recognizes educational innovation that has had an impact on student learning and skills, motivating the educational community to generate valuable experiences, reflect, and transform education.

9. Networking Events: The conference activities take place at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. Over the course of three days, participants have the opportunity to make connections during working sessions, workshops, break times, and at a Networking Cocktail organized on the second day at the Luis Elizondo auditorium.
