Pablo Boullosa is convinced that books make our existence broader. He represented México in the 1996 Asia Pacific Conference of Young Leaders. From 1990 to 2000 he was the director of the cultu-bar center El hijo del cuervo. His articles have appeared in publications such as El Universal, Reforma, Milenio, Vuelta, Literal, Textual y Viceversa. He was a member of the editorial boards of Avance y Perspectiva, El periódico de poesía and La Gaceta del Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE). He was a member of the editorial board of the Senate of the Republic. He has been a jury in literary creation and journalism contests.
He directed the magazine Este País. Tendencias y opiniones from May 2016 to February 2018. He was managing director of El Aurero, SA de CV and of DOPSA, SA de CV. In 2013 he created the initiative 10 mil por la educación, to promote the production of educational videos for junior high school and high school. He is currently a member of the editorial committee of Turner México and of sociedadabierta.net, member of the imaginative education team in Mexico, advisor of DOPSA, SA de CV and advisor of Ibby México (Asociación para leer, escuchar, escribir y recrear, AC).
He has taught at junior high schools, high schools and universities. He has given conferences in different cities of México, for companies, educational institutions, unions and festivals.
On television he carried out El Gimnasio. Texto, sudor y páginas (2001) and La barra de letras (2002) for Channel 22. Between 2004 and 2008, he wrote and hosted Domingo 7 at Azteca Siete. For this program he received in 2008 the medal Al mérito in the XXXVIII Certamen Nacional de Periodismo del Club de Periodistas de México. In 2013 he wrote and hosted El tiempo de Carlos Fuentes, for TV Azteca and Proyecto 40. Since 2013 he writes and hosts EC = Pablo Boullosa, for Azteca Opinion (Premio Nacional de Locución 2016 Humberto G. Tamayo). The videos of this program accumulate more than one million visits on Facebook and YouTube.
Since 2003, he has co-hosted La dichosa palabra, one of Canal 22’s emblematic broadcasts. La dichosa palabra has received numerous awards, such as Premio Principios del Consejo de la Comunicación (en 2004, 2005 y 2008), Premio Alas de Plata (2006), Premio Generación 2006, “Rey Poeta” 2018 in Texoco, etc.
He is the author of El corazón es un resorte. Metáforas y otras herramientas para mejorar nuestra educación (Editorial Taurus – Penguin Random House Editorial Group, 2016) and Dilemas clásicos para mexicanos y otros supervivientes (Editorial Taurus, 2011). Coauthor of Educación imaginativa. Una aproximación a Kieran Egan (Morata, 2017). In a non-venal edition he published El otro conde de Montecristo. Verdehalago published his translation of Los poemas de amor de Marichiko, by Kenneth Rexroth, and Porrúa his prologue to Robinson Crusoe.
